Special Interest Groups (SIGS)
Special Interest Groups may be organized within the Chapter to provide a means by which members having a common interest in special areas of physical therapy may meet, confer, and promote the interest of the respective groups. Per the TPTA Bylaws, these groups are self-sustaining and rely on fundraising to maintain their organization.
The Pediatric SIG is bringing together therapists, therapist assistants and students interested in the Pediatric population.
The PTA SIG is to help PTAs and student PTAs have a common voice and advocacy for Physical Therapist Assistants.
The Private Practice SIG is not currently active but the TPTA is working towards getting interested members to re-activate. If you are interested in being involved in this group, please email Stacey Mather at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Research SIG are members interested in research related to Physical Therapy.
The Texas Students Physical Therapy Association (TSPTA) SIG is the student voice of the TPTA by communicating through a liaison network. The TSPTA notifies TPTA student members of current events affecting PT and PTA students. The goal is to create an informed student body which will actively participate in the decision making process of the TPTA.
