Quarterly meeting and Ethics course (2.0 CCU*)

Advanced registration recommended (to allow each site to plan for attendance), but walk-ins are welcome. Members may attend the ethics course for free, non-members for a $20 fee.

*Please note that CCU approval for this course in pending, if confirmation is not received prior to meeting date a notification will be sent via CAD email and Facebook. CCU certificates will be sent via email directly from TPTA, once attendance is confirmed.

Schedule for Sept. 22 quarterly meeting and ethics CCU:
• 5:30-6:00 p.m. social networking
• 6:00-6:15 p.m. brief CAD business meeting
• 6:15-8:15 p.m. “Foundation for Decision Making: Influence of Values” ethics CCU

Course will be broadcast via Go To Meeting to 5 locations (allowing live video feed and interaction with the instructor)

Course objectives:

1. Identify how values influence clinical choices of therapists and their patients. 
2. Recognize and discuss the tools available from professional associations to make choices including codes of ethics and guides for conduct. 
3. Define the four value principles and three rules that follow that make up codes of ethics. 
4. Use a clinical reasoning process to aid in resolving ethical dilemmas. 
5. Identify legal standards in the profession and understand the overlapping of legal and ethical principles.
6. Discuss hypothetical ethical dilemmas
