Yeah, so you have to take Ethics! Stop by and order yourself some dinner and relax as our speakers Christina Cayce and D.Ellis chat up about Ethics in Physical Therapy.

Objectives:

1) Describe and define ethics, morals, values, laws and rules and the relationship between them.
2) Understand ethical theories and principles as they apply to the practice of Physical Therapy.
3) Recognize situations that are in conflict with ethical practice and take appropriate action.
4) Be proactive in the delivery of ethical Physical Therapy services in their practice setting and to the public in general.
5) Understand the role of the APTA/TPTA in promoting ethics in the Physical Therapy profession.

Speaker Bios:

Christina Cayce, PTA has practiced as a PTA in several setting since 2000.  She is a former PTA Instructor and ACCE for Del Mar College. She has been recognized by the APTA for Advanced Proficiency in the Education Realm and has her Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science from UIW. Christina currently does home health and PRN for Corpus Christi hospitals.  She is also an active volunteer for the TPTA By-Laws Committee.

“Dee” Virginia Ellis, PTA, LMT, CKTI has practiced as a PTA since 1996.  She has been an instructor for Kinesio® Taping Certification courses (KT1-4) since 2005. Dee has been recognized by the APTA for Advanced Proficiency in the Musculoskeletal Realm. Dee currently works PRN in hospitals, home health and as a Licensed Massage Therapist in the Corpus Christi area.

Christina and Dee are Co-Chairs for the Coastal Bend District Education Committee and both are involved with the TPTA PTA - Special Interest Group.

6:00 -7:00 PM - COASTAL BEND DISTRICT MEETING
with Guest Speaker, Representative Todd Hunter

7:00 - 9:00 PM - Ethics Course 

 

Registration Fees:

PT/PTA Member:  $15.00

PT/PTA Non-Member:  $30.00

Student Member:  Complimentary

Student Non-Member:  $10.00

 

Onsite registration will be an additional $10.00  

 

CCUs:  This course is approved for 2.0 Ethics CCUs.
