Objectives:

  • Locate the core ethics documents of APTA and other ethics resources and explain how our professional ethics have advanced over time.
  • Become familiar with APTA's ethics documents.
  • Understand our current professional climate and the demand for a strong professional ethic.
  • Use at least 1 ethical decision-making tool to address a home health therapy scenario.
  • Understand the concept of moral agency.
  • Be an advocate for professional and ethical practice.

 

Speaker Bio:

Bud Langham, PT, MBA is a Physical Therapist who is passionate about bringing evidence-based practice to the home health and hospice settings. He believes in providing healthcare in the patient's home is the single best way to lower post-acute care costs and simultaneously improve outcomes. He previously presented at a North Texas District Ethics Meeting in 2014 and received excellent reviews by attendees at the meeting.
