Up to 50% of individuals suffer from urinary incontinence. This greatly affects quality of life. We, as musculoskeletal experts, must have a basic understanding of how the pelvic floor can be implicated in incontinence and be able to discuss treatment options for our patients. 4CCUs At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to: Speaker(s) Susan “Michele” Green, PT, DPT earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX in 2017. She began working in orthopedics and pelvic health upon graduation, as she has developed an appreciation of how these two fields influence one another. She treats men and women with orthopedic injury, however has focus in the area of women’s health, where she treats various conditions involving obstetrical and pelvic health. Prior to entering the world of physical therapy, Michele spent her career in academics, where she taught undergraduate coursework in cellular and molecular biology, human anatomy and physiology, comparative vertebrate anatomy and physiology, and enjoyed participating in research activities and support. Michele is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Women’s Health and the Orthopaedic Section, in addition to the Texas Physical Therapy Association.
