The Barb Melzer Lecture
The Barb Melzer Lecture serves as a tribute to the late and distinguished Dr. Barb Melzer, PhD, DPT.  Barb was a strong individual who had a passion for mentorship at all levels.  Her mentorship included supporting professional development for many different cohorts: students in entry level and advanced physical therapy programs, colleagues seeking guidance for professional growth and sometimes life changing steps in their careers, and in her professional roles with the TPTA and APTA that centered around standards of careclinical education, ethics, and excellence in Physical Therapy.  Barb was skilled in her mentoring in ways that some describe as gentle and quiet.  She was able to recognize strengths and abilities in individuals and methodically guide them towards goals that highlighted these strengths, sometimes without them knowing she was doing this.  She encouraged students and colleagues to do their best and strive to be great at what they did.  Barb was a warmcompassionate, and caring individual with a kind heart and inclusion towards all people.  Above all, Barb was the consummate professional who dedicated her career to guiding others and advancing the physical therapy profession.

We are currently looking for submissions for the upcoming TPTA Annual Conference Barb Melzer Keynote Lecture.  If you or someone you know could provide a 45-minute keynote that would speak to some of the core values that Barb espoused, please submit a bio, lecture topic and overview for the review process.  The ideal lecture would engage the diverse audience of physical therapy students, professionals and guests attending the annual TPTA conference.
