Update on current state of PT practice in Texas. Focus on current issues impacting profession of PT, as well as focus on current state and federal legislative priorities impacting the future of the profession.



By the end of this lecture, participants will:

  • Be able to discuss the current state of PT practice in Texas
  • Be able to discuss the current issues impacting PT profession
  • Be able to discuss current state & federal legislative priorities impacting the future of the profession.

Speaker Bio:

Mike Connors received a BS in Biology from Stockton State College in Pomona, NJ. He received his Master of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University in 2003 and his transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy Degreef from Temple University in 2008. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree at Texas Woman’s University with an anticipated completion in late 2015. Mike obtained his board certification in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2011. He has been employed in the outpatient orthopedic, hospital based, inpatient rehabilitation, and home health settings.


Paul Hardin has spent his entire career in nonprofit association management, having spent the past 17 years with healthcare related organizations. Paul became the Executive Director and CEO of Texas Physical Therapy Association in early 2009. He earned the Certified Association Executive certification in 2003, and was name the first ever recipient of the “Future Leader” award by the Texas Society of Association Executives in 2002.


This course is approved for 1.5 CCUs.
