This course will provide an overview of Neuro-developmental Treatment (NDT) principles and handling techniques for children using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth (ICF-CY) model. Sensory processing and the sensory aspects of handling children will be discussed. Participants will learn how to adapt sensory input to optimize function in children.



1.       Identify basic principles of pediatric Neuro-developmental Treatment (NDT)

2.       Discuss the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth (ICF-CY) model as it relates to NDT

3.       Discuss how sensory systems may impact motor learning in children

4.       Describe how physical therapists can change sensory input to facilitate optimal function


Speaker Bio:

Megan Flores earned her Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  She currently works at the University of St. Augustine as an Instructor for their DPT program.
