Low Back Pain: A Discussion on Surgical Decision-Making (SED)

Low back pain is a growing epidemic in the United States, with total direct and indirect costs outpacing heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. As Physical Therapists, we play a vital role in the assessment and management of individuals with low back pain. 1CCU 

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:

1) Review the global burden of Low Back Pain;
2) Discuss current literature on Low Back Pain treatment;
3) Outline best approach for triage and screening of Low Back Pain.

Speaker(s)
Sean Harris, PT, DPT, PhD (c), FAAOMPT, CSCS graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2015 from Texas Woman's University. Sean then went on to complete an Orthopedic Residency program with Memorial Hermann and became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2017. He also completed a Fellowship in Manual Therapy through OPTIM. He serves as adjunct faculty and is also currently pursuing his PhD with Texas Woman's University, with research emphasis on non-operative treatment of the spine. He practices as a clinician at Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation where he serves as Lead Therapist and Orthopedic Residency Site-Coordinator.
