The East District is providing our district with new ideas for greater participation from everyone, members or non-members, to bring unity and increase membership in our district. Tom Waugh gave a lot to our profession and we want everyone to know that his fellowship represents what our profession stands for and how it is constantly evolving. The speaker, Denise Gobert, PT, PhD will bring experience and leadership in the profession that we need to duplicate and excel in our profession of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Gobert teaches in the DPT Program at Texas State University and have been a practicing PT for over 20 years. She is also a board certified neurologic physical therapy specialist (NCS) and certified exercise expert for aging adults (CEEAA). Her practice and research centers around the diagnosis and treatment of persons with neurological disorders including TBI, Stroke and Vestibular-related movement disorders. She started her membership in the TPTA and APTA as a student and has been a member in various leadership positions at state and national levels over the years.  As the founder of the Tom Waugh Leadership Development program in 2013, she has helped support emerging leaders in Texas for over 9 years and advocates in behalf of evidence-based physical therapy practice at all levels in terms of medical competence and public health policy.
