Linda John, PT, is a practicing physical therapist contracting to outpatient physical therapy clinics around the North Dallas area. She has been an active member of APTA since 1997, being directly involved in legislative advocacy for the past 19 years. She served as Government Affairs Chair and Federal Affairs Liaison for the Oklahoma Physical Therapy chapter, with efforts focused on attaining direct patient access, before moving to North Texas in 2010. Linda presently serves as the PT-PAC Ambassador and Federal Affairs Liaison for the Texas chapter of the APTA, and has made numerous trips to Capitol Hill to lobby Congress on the issues of Medicare Direct Access, Repeal of the Therapy Cap, and student loan reimbursement. As a result of her efforts on the Hill and solidifying a strong, working relationship with leadership in the House Health Committees, Linda was presented with the APTA Federal Government Affairs Leadership Award in 2018. During her tenure in this arena, Linda has organized political fundraisers and presented at state and district meetings to educate members about and encourage involvement in the legislative process as it relates to the physical therapy profession.
