Clinical Gross Anatomy of the Spine and Lower Extremity (CAD)
Texas State University Department of Physical Therapy Round Rock Campus, Willow Hall

A thorough understanding of gross anatomy is essential for the evaluation and treatment of clients. Often the only opportunity to observe gross anatomy is during physical therapy education. This course offers the unique opportunity to review anatomy in a lecture setting and then enter the lab for first-hand visualization. This course welcomes all levels of experience. 4CCUs

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the bony landmarks, muscles, vasculature, and nerves of the spine and lower extremity;
2. Identify the anatomical course followed by the major nerves, blood vessels, and muscles;
3. Relate the anatomical course followed by the major nerves, blood vessels, and muscles to adjacent structures;
4. Integrate the anatomy of the region with common evaluation and treatment techniques;
5. Integrate the anatomy of the region with the clinical presentation of patients.
