The APTA supports efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to better serve the association, profession, and society. A new standing committee and Director of Inclusion staff position at APTA h ave been created to advance the APTA’s strategic plan objective of improvin g DEI in the profession and association. At the District level, we support and value these efforts. As health providers, we must first familiarize our selves with terms including equity, disparity, diversity, and unconscious b ias, so that we can acknowledge their impact on health outcomes and their i nfluence within our healthcare systems. Increased awareness should allow us to identify our personal roles and responsibilities in mitigating health d isparities and unconscious biases and pursuing healthy equity and diversity within our workplaces and communities. 1.5CCUs
