This course is relevant for therapist treat ing in the acute, subacute, outpatient and home health settings. The first part provides a review of the recently published clinical guidelines for tr eatment and management of individuals with heart failure with a review of t he patholphysiology and exercise prescription and training intensity for th ese individuals in physical therapy.The second part of the course provides a review of patients post COVID with the following: differential diagnosis of the pulmonary conditions, triage, red/yellow flags. There will be covera ge of post-intensive care syndrome with assessment guidelines/screening, in terventions and treatment. There will be coverage of pulmonary complication s post COVID with differential diagnosis between this and COPD, PT interven tion and rehab. There will be coverage of the terms: Long Covid/Post-acute sequelae of covid/ Dysautonomia to include symptoms/risk factors, precautio ns and contraindications for exercise, and treatment planning. The last par t of the webinar is very pertinent to PTs treating individuals with long CO VID with a personal account of what this PT has dealt with in living with l ong COVID including becoming a founding member of the Long COVID Physio gro up that advocates for proper patient care and awareness.
