Objective:  Visits made by a TPTA Advocacy Team with every Legislator's office at the State Capitol (31 Senate offices, 150 House offices)

The 2017 Texas Legislative Session convened on Tuesday, January 10th. The 85th Texas Legislature will adjourn on Monday, May 29th. This legislative session will be a challenging session for the Physical Therapy profession. Not only will the first Sunset bill for the PT licensure board (the first in 23 years) be addressed, there is a full agenda of legislative initiatives that the association will be supporting; these include a Direct/Patient Access Bill, a Licensure Compact bill, and support for a Medicaid bill to restore Pediatric Therapy funding.

We extend an invitation to all licensed Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, and PT/PTA students to join us on Legislative Day and participate in the advocacy event to inform the State's Legislators, their staff, and legislative decision-makers on issues of importance to the Physical Therapy profession and the patients they serve. We are asking that all participants complete the online registration for participation in Legislative Day. This will assist us in forming legislative teams and setting up appointments for each team.

Thank you for your participation in this year's Legislative Day!
