Setting Objectives for Effective Clinical Mentorship (CAD)
Monday, November 08, 2021, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM CDT
Category: District Meetings

Clinical Instructors are considered Clinical Faculty, yet many have never received any formal training in education. Students come to clinical experiences with objectives to meet as dictated by their DPT program, however the means to achieving these overall objectives are not dictated. This presentation will cover the basics of objective taxonomy and provide ideas to help clinical sites build objectives to guide students through a successful clinical experience. 1 CCU

At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Describe curriculum development as a six-step process and identify where clinical education objectives fall within the process. (Level 1);
2. Interpret objective level based upon Bloom’s Taxonomy (Level 2);
3. Outline clinical experience goals that need associated objectives (Level 4);
4. Construct two objectives to facilitate progress towards a clinical goal (Level 6).
