Payment Policy Committee

The TPTA Payment Policy Committee was created to assist in guiding payment related affairs of the Texas Physical Therapy Association as they relate to the general public.  The TPTA Payment Policy Committee serves as a resource to TPTA members regarding physical therapy payment and reimbursement issues to enhance relationships with third-party payers through dialogue and education regarding the practice of physical therapy.

Our Objectives

• Analyze and address relevant issues, policies, and trends in the current environment affecting payment of physical therapy and recommend strategic solutions
• Identify potential changes in the payment environment and recommend techniques, positions or policies to influence these revisions to better reflect physical therapists’ value in the healthcare system
• Identify and address risk management considerations regarding changes in payment regulation and provide advice/ counsel to the TPTA Executive Committee, Board of Directors and Chapter office as it relates to these changes
• Identify and develop educational materials such as articles, webinars, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to provide members with practical information regarding developing reimbursement trends

What We Do
The Payment Policy Committee meets regularly via phone conference to discuss current payment related issues and to determine what actions should be taken to address those issues.

The committee also develops educational programming such as the “New Year, New Codes: New Evaluation Codes” webinar series, in addition to serving as a resource for TPTA members.
