Physical Therapy is about helping an individual achieve results, so they can live at their own personal level of optimal performance. Social Work as a profession, really has a similar goal, in that the client is trying to achieve optimal life performance, however, social work is unique from other professions in that social workers are used to working with the barriers that clients present with. By taking a closer look at the social determinants of health, otherwise known as barriers to achieving health goals, PT professionals can not only understand the reasons why clients may not engage in treatment, but tweak their practices to include ways to engage with patients in a way that meets them where they are at, thus increasing likelihood of engagement in services. 1CCU At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to: Speaker(s) Schedule Additional Locations N/A Registration Fees $5 - Student $10 - TPTA Member $20 - Non Member Registration Registration closes at noon on 1/24.
