Quadriceps Torque Development: The Key to a Happy Knee (SED)
Tuesday, February 18, 2020, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM CDT
Category: District Meetings
Quadriceps function is integral to many activities of daily living, sports-related activities, and can significantly impact overall quality of life. Additionally, quadriceps inhibition and weakness is known to persist after patients pass functional return to sport testing. This begs the question: Does underlying quadriceps weakness significantly impact re-injury rates? What rehab strategies might we utilize to improve quadriceps function? What key concepts guide the rehabilitation process? 1CCU
At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to: 1. Recognize biomechanics and vectors during functional activity 2. Discuss the “Envelope of Function” in relation to lower extremity rehabilitation 3. Utilize practical objective measures for quantification in rehab 4. Explore loading logistics and building capacity in patient care
